The promise

Nothing about your money
leaves your device.

Most budgeting apps ask for your online banking login and keep a copy of your spending on their servers. DebitMate does not have a server for your data to sit on. Your bills, statements and balances live in one SQLite file in your own user folder — you can open it, copy it or delete it yourself.

No bank connection

You import a CSV statement from your bank, the way you would download it anyway. DebitMate never holds a credential that could reach your account.

No account, no sign-up

Install it and start. There is no profile, no password to forget and no email list. The app knows nothing about you that you did not type into it.

Works with no internet

Every figure is worked out on the device. On a train, on a plane, or when the broadband is down, the app opens and behaves exactly the same.

What it does

The whole month, in one place.

Built around the questions people actually ask themselves: what is going out, what have I already paid, and what is left.

Recurring payments

Every bill with its cadence and due day, colour-coded as paid, due soon or overdue. Start a new month and the ticks reset — while the record of what you paid last month is kept.

Statement imports

Drop in a CSV from any bank; the columns are detected for you. Importing the same file twice is safe — duplicate rows are skipped rather than doubled.

Smart rules

Anything containing TESCO becomes Groceries. Messy bank descriptions become clean merchant names. Internal transfers stop polluting your budgets.

Subscriptions found for you

Recurring charges are detected in your own transactions, with their cadence and usual amount — and flagged when the price rises, doubles up, or quietly stops.

Budgets and goals

A monthly limit per category with live progress and optional rollover. Savings pots tell you what to put away each month to arrive on time.

Split expenses

Groups for housemates, partners or a trip. Costs split to the exact penny, with the shortest set of payments that squares everyone up.

Two devices, one licence

On the desk and
in your pocket.

The Windows app is the full workshop: imports, rules, analytics, net worth, everything. The iPhone app is for the moment you are standing at the till wondering whether this month has room in it.

Each keeps its own file on its own device — there is no cloud in between, because there is no cloud. One licence covers both.
